What are the different types of humidifiers?

There are three main types of humidifiers for your home. You can scroll further down this page to see our featured humidifiers. The first type of humidifier is called a bypass humidifier. A Bypass humidifier passes water through a special pad that has your home's air flowing through it adding humidity to the air. The second type of humidifier is a fan-powered humidifier. These units work the same as a bypass humidifier with the benefit of a fan to assist air flow. The third, and probably best humidifier is a steam humidifier.A steam humidifier works just as it sounds, through a canister it creates steam which is added to your home comfort system. Do I need to service my humidifier?

All forms of humidifiers require some form of service. Living in Kelowna and the surrounding area, our summer weather produces enough humidity that you can turn your humidifier off in the spring, and then turn back on again in the fall. Some units have "summer" and "winter" labelled switches rather than just an on/off.
